Love Forgives

• How do you know that your parent or caregiver loves you? How do they know that you love them?

• When someone hurts you, how do you forgive them?

Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.
1 Peter 4:8

On Valentine’s Day, we hear a lot about love. But the love that God has for us goes beyond cards and gifts. So does the love that Christians are supposed to have for one another.

One of the features of Christian love is that it covers a multitude of sins. This love gives us the ability to forgive others just as we have been forgiven.

Since we all do things that are wrong sometimes, we all need lots of forgiveness. We please God when we are ready to forgive one another often. That is what genuine, godly love looks like.

Are you holding a grudge against someone today? Take a good look at your heart and see if there are any offenses that you haven’t forgiven. God wants you to forgive others, and he has given you the love to do it. It might not be easy, but with God’s love, it is possible.

PRAYER
Dear God, help us to have real love for one another so that we can be understanding and forgiving. Please help us to be eager to forgive others. Amen.
