Fearfully And Wonderfully Made
• What makes you different from everyone else?
• What is your favorite thing about yourself?
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
Psalm 139:13-14
God made the heavens and the earth. Pretty impressive stuff. He made the majestic mountains, the immense oceans, and the vast sky. He made the dancing honeybee, the dreamlike jellyfish, and the colorful parrot. He made the comets, Saturn’s rings, and massive black holes. And he made you.
God’s works are wonderful. You know that full well. So, why do you sometimes believe that one of his works isn’t wonderful? Why do you sometimes believe that you are not wonderful? It’s simply not true. You are fearfully and wonderfully made. You were not created by chance—you were designed. God knit you together in your mother’s womb.
God would not create something that didn’t matter. God would not waste his time or his power on something that wasn’t wonderful. Don’t ever doubt that you matter. You matter to God—you’re his child. You are one of his many masterpieces.
PRAYER
Dear God, please forgive us when we forget that we are fearfully and wonderfully made. Thank you for this life. Please give us confidence in who we are in you. Amen.
