Forever Faithful

If we are faithless, he remains faithful, for he cannot disown himself.
2 Timothy 2:13

People have a tendency to let others down. Maybe a friend gets a better offer and blows off your weekend plans. Or maybe a loved one promises to come to your game, but instead has to work late and misses it. That sting of disappointment can hurt.

Unfortunately, that’s human nature. People are imperfect. Sooner or later, most people will let us down in one way or another. If we want someone who is faithful 100 percent of the time, we need to turn to Jesus. He will never leave us or forsake us. No matter how many times we let him down, he will always be there for us.

Jesus’ faithfulness guarantees our salvation. We never have to wonder whether it’s enough simply to believe in him. He promises that if we do, he will save us.

As followers of Jesus, we should do everything we can to follow his example. We can be examples of faithfulness to others. We can be the kind of people others rely on in tough times. We can show others what Jesus is like.

PRAYER
Dear Jesus, we live in a world of disappointment, but we never have to worry about you letting us down. Thank you for being so faithful. Amen.
