God Gives You Skill For Living
For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.
Proverbs 2:6
Supposedly mankind’s knowledge is now doubling every three or four years. Unfortunately, despite living in the information age, despite computers, the Internet and an ever-increasing emphasis on education, large numbers of people continue to do really foolish things. Why?

The ancient Hebrews defined wisdom as “skill in living.” To their way of thinking, wisdom was much more than just knowing facts about a subject. It was the ability to apply truth to real-life situations in a fashion that honored God.
We all need such “skill in living” every day. But we especially need wisdom when we’re going through tough times. A wrong decision or foolish reaction when we’re in a mess can make our troubles even worse.
Ask your wise heavenly Father to show you what’s right and best. He will do it.

• I am the source of knowledge and understanding.
MY PRAYER TO GOD
You are wise, Lord. Remind me of the truth that much of what the world calls “wisdom” runs counter to your character. You give wisdom and insight to those who seek you. How often I lack deep understanding! Heavenly Father, keep me from making bad decisions. Let me see my situation from your perspective.
