God Encourages Those Who Wait On Him
I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in his word I put my hope.
Psalm 130:5
After a while tough times can make you feel like a boxer in a brutal championship bout. For a short time you were holding your own—even getting in a good counterpunch now and then. But for the last few rounds your opponent has trapped you up against the ropes and come close to knocking you out. Now you’re slumped in your corner, so weary you don’t know who or where you are. The fight’s not even close to being over. People are shouting instructions and trying to give you encouragement, but if you are going to make it to the next round, much less the end of the fight, you’ll need much more than verbal motivation.

When you endure a long-term difficulty, you’ll understand and relate to this analogy. Thankfully, God sees and knows the difficulty you face. That’s why he encourages you to wait for the strength and help that can only come through him.
If you’re worn-out and ready to quit, ask God to help you keep waiting.

MY PRAYER TO GOD
O Lord, I need your limitless strength so that I can keep going even in the midst of hard times. The only way to experience your strength is to wait on you.
