God Takes Care Of The Godly
Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.
Psalm 55:22
What image do you see when you think of the adjective burdened? A weary-looking middle-aged couple slumped on a couch in the corner of a hospital lobby? A concerned parent staring through the curtains late at night, wondering about a rebellious 17-year-old? A feeble widow trying—not too successfully—to maintain a big house and yard?
Burdens come in all varieties and sizes (and they come daily), but the promise above is wonderfully reassuring. Whenever we feel weighed down, we can give our problems and worries to the Lord.
And though we sometimes wonder if we can endure long-term burdens, we have the divine pledge that God will never let go of us.
GOD’S PROMISE TO ME
• Give me your burdens, and I will take care of you.
• I will not let you slip and fall.
MY PRAYER TO GOD
Heavenly Father, you see my situation and know my needs. I trust you, Lord. I will cling to you and your promises today.
