You Can Come Boldly To God’s Throne

You Can Come Boldly To God’s Throne

We do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
Hebrews 4:15-16

When you’ve messed up, what’s your first response? Many of us, if we’re honest, might follow the example of our first parents, Adam and Eve—we hide. We also tend to take this approach when we wrestle with temptation.

Hebrews 4:16 gives us some advice to take us out of hiding: “Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence.” When we’re tempted to doubt, worry, throw in the towel, become afraid or “lose it” emotionally, we have the assurance that Jesus was tempted with the same things we are, and he understands our weaknesses. Therefore, he can help us when we come to his throne.

The Savior understands your temptations. He knows your weakness, and he can help you. You can go boldly to God’s throne to receive his mercy, grace and help. You can go boldly—confidently—because you are his beloved child.

GOD’S PROMISE TO ME
• I have gone through suffering and temptation and understand what you are facing.

• You can come boldly to my throne anytime and receive mercy and grace in time of need.

MY PRAYER TO GOD
Lord, I am so thankful for your promise that I can come boldly to your throne. Thank you for that access to you day or night.
