Walking in Integrity

Walking in Integrity

The Lord is more pleased when we do what is just and right than when we give him sacrifices. Proverbs 21:3

Are you grieved when you see corruption in the business world and in the culture at large? Almost weekly the newspapers reveal another instance of a widespread lack of integrity on the part of an individual or a corporation. Fewer and fewer people, it seems, think it’s important to do what is right simply because it is right. But God has an answer, a way for us to escape the corruption of this present age by the power of his life within us. It is through the one perfect sacrifice—the death and resurrection of Jesus—that we can come humbly to the Father, receive his wisdom, and trust his Spirit to guide us in doing what is right and just.

What choices are you facing today in your marriage or family, in your business or financial life? Because the Lord loves you so much, he has provided his written Word, prayer, and the transforming work of his Spirit to enable you to live justly and walk humbly with him, for this pleases him.

Prayers:
DEAR LORD, in all the decisions and choices that I face each day, help me to walk in obedience to you and, thus, in honesty and integrity. Empower me by your Spirit to do what is just and right so that I’m living a life that pleases you and reflects your character.

Quotes:
GOD DOES NOT SUPPLY US WITH CHARACTER, HE GIVES US THE LIFE OF HIS SON, AND WE CAN EITHER IGNORE HIM AND REFUSE TO OBEY HIM, OR WE CAN SO OBEY HIM, SO BRING EVERY THOUGHT AND IMAGINATION INTO CAPTIVITY, THAT THE LIFE OF JESUS IS MANIFESTED IN OUR MORTAL FLESH.
Oswald Chambers (1874–1917)
