A New Reality

A New Reality

We have stopped evaluating others by what the world thinks about them. Once I mistakenly thought of Christ that way, as though he were merely a human being. How differently I think about him now! 2 Corinthians 5:16

When the Lord first awakens us by his grace to receive the life he has provided for us in Jesus, we tend to comprehend the things of the Spirit through the reference base we have acquired over the years. The trouble is, we cannot grasp spiritual things through natural processes. Our lives were once concerned only with the elements of this physical world, but now we realize that eternal life supersedes our momentary pilgrimage on this planet. In Romans 12, Paul admonished the believers not to be conformed to this world but to be transformed by the renewing of their minds, that they might begin to live out the life that God had called them to. In today’s verse, he is helping us understand that this whole principle applies to everything. He challenges us to learn to live in a superseding reality, relating to everything and everybody from this new perspective. We can be thankful that God is the author of this renewed insight in us and he will bring it to completion.

Prayers:
THANK YOU, LORD, for the grace that gives me spiritual sight to see things that no physical eye can see. Help me to work together with you in this whole process as you transform me into your likeness by the power of your Spirit. May I come to grasp your light, which is the substance behind the shadows.

Quotes:
GOD DOES NOT DO ANYTHING WITH US, ONLY THROUGH US.
Oswald Chambers (1874–1917)
