Forgiven? Forgive!

Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.
Colossians 3:13

It is important that believers get along with each other. People who do not know God may see his power in the way that believers love one another. This doesn’t mean that we will never be hurt by another believer; Christians are not immune to sin. Even believers hurt each other’s feelings, lie about others and take what doesn’t belong to them. God tells us we still need to forgive others when they ask for our forgiveness.

We are to forgive as the Lord has forgiven us. No matter what someone does to us, it isn’t as bad as the sins we’ve committed against God. And if we’ve repented and given our lives to Jesus, then we have been forgiven for all of it. The least we can do in return is to forgive others when they repent of their wrongs.

So when you are struggling to forgive someone for something they did to you, remember that God has already forgiven you for more.

PRAYER
Dear God, please forgive us when we are reluctant to forgive. Thank you for forgiving us for our sins, and please help us to forgive others when they wrong us. Amen.
