God Says You Are

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
John 3:16

This world can do a lot of damage to someone’s self-esteem. The media are constantly telling us that we’re not good enough because they want us to spend more money on trying to be better. They tell us that if we have the newest toy, the fastest car and the biggest house, people will love us.

If we look to the world for our self-esteem, we will be disappointed. But, as children of God, we can feel certain of our self-worth. The God of all creation loved us enough to send his only Son to die for us.

Even if you were the only person on earth, God still would have sent Jesus for you. That’s how much he loves you. Don’t ever allow the world to make you think you’re not beautiful, not special, not worthwhile — God says you are. Trust in God and his love; remember how much he loves you.

PRAYER
Dear God, thank you for Jesus. Thank you for sending him to earth to die for us. Please help us to remember your love when we are feeling down. Amen.
