The Light In Your Heart

For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ.
2 Corinthians 4:6

The universe didn’t exist. There was nothing but darkness. And God banished the darkness when he created light on that first day.

Our hearts were empty. There was nothing but darkness. And God banished the darkness when he shone his light into our hearts, when he showed us his glory through Jesus Christ.

The same God who created physical light to shine throughout the universe also created the supernatural light that shines in the hearts of Christians. We need to recognize the power of this light. We need to appreciate it so much that we can’t help but share it with others. We share this light by loving others the way that Jesus loves us. We share this light by telling people the truth about what God can do.

Do you know someone who doesn’t know Jesus? Pray for that person today. Ask God to shine his light into that person’s heart too.
