God Is Fair With You
The Lord is righteous in all his ways and faithful in all he does.
Psalm 145:17
The first complete sentence uttered by most children is “That’s not fair!” Kids say this a lot. And, truth be told, grown-ups think it a lot. It’s not hard to see why. We live in a world filled with inequity and injustice. The undeserving seem to get all the breaks. Nice guys, as the saying goes, finish last.

What’s important to remember is that even though life is unfair, God never is (see Hebrews 6:10). Because he is righteous (see Psalm 71:16), everything he does is just (see Psalm 111:7). Furthermore, he loves righteousness and justice (see Psalm 33:5).
The next time you are faced with an unfair situation, turn to the one who is righteous in everything he does.
GOD’S PROMISE TO ME

MY PRAYER TO GOD
I struggle, God, with living in a world where evil seems to be rewarded and good is ignored or punished. Help me to keep me eyes on you and on the truth of your word. You are righteous in all you do. When I am being treated unfairly, help me to resist the urge to respond in kind.
