God Listens To You

The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles.
Psalm 34:17

One of the great drawbacks of our busy age is that when life gets overwhelming, it’s hard to know where to turn. The reason? Just about everyone else is busy too. Even when you manage somehow to get a friend or family member to sit down and chat, do you really have his full attention? Is she truly listening to you—or is she listening to all the pressures swirling around in her own mind? Is he looking at you or through you?

The Biblical promise above is fantastic news to those with heavy hearts, those without a reliable shoulder to cry on. “The lord hears” the righteous. Imagine that! The Creator, Almighty God, is never too busy to listen to his children. He’s a compassionate Father who hears your cries. And he gives you not only his full attention—anytime you need it—but also the help you need in your time of trouble.

• I rescue you from trouble.

MY PRAYER TO GOD
O Lord, you promised to hear your people when they call for help. What a blessing to know that I have access to you—that you listen intently to the deepest cries of my heart, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Not only do you listen, but you pledge to rescue your children from all their troubles. I need you, Lord. I look to you to be my deliverer in every confusing and scary situation.
