Coming Home

I have wandered away like a lost sheep; come and find me, for I have not forgotten your commands. Psalm 119:176

If we are Christians, each of us, at one time or another, was a lost sheep that the Father found and drew to himself. God wants us, as recipients of his amazing grace, to join him in interceding for other lost sheep—family members, friends, or other people he has brought into our lives. We are to bring them to the throne of grace and ask the Lord to reveal himself to them, to redeem and free them from the entrapment of sin, and to transform them by his love. If they are prodigals who are in the “far country” of an ungodly lifestyle, if they have forgotten God’s commands or been deceived by Satan, pray that the Spirit of the Lord will demolish strongholds of pride and unbelief and renew their minds in the truth. Pray that he will bring them out of darkness into his marvelous light.

As you pray for these lost sheep, be confident in God’s power to work in their lives, defeat Satan’s strategies, and bring them into a full knowledge of Christ Jesus. Give thanks for the fact that God accomplishes this through the finished work of Christ on the cross, and then continue in prayer that God will work out his purposes for these lost sheep.

Prayers:
FATHER, I pray today on behalf of [insert name(s)]. Open their minds and hearts to the truth of your Word. Send the Holy Spirit to release your love and power into their lives, that they may experience your grace, believe your truth, understand their need, turn from their sin, and live forever with you.

Quotes:
God works on the earth through prayer, and you are going to have the awesome privilege of partnering with God to see people meet Christ. People will be in heaven because of your prayers.
