If you wait for perfect conditions, you will never get anything done. Ecclesiastes 11:4

There is a place in the future that we often speak of. We call it “one day,” the time when we will accomplish those things we’ve always longed to do. The time when we’ve lost the weight we wanted to and had our joy restored. The time when we will give generously to those in need or work within the ministry that excites our hearts. We’ll do great things for God when our finances prosper or when time is not so short—one day! Yet there are two places we cannot go. We cannot travel back into the past or propel ourselves into the future. All we have is today. When we give of our time or finances in proportion with what we have at hand at the present time, God sees the heart of the giver, not the gift. It is he who multiplies and blesses that gift—just as he did when he fed a multitude with a little boy’s meager lunch of loaves and fishes. What has God asked us to do today? When we are faithful in small things, big things can take place in the kingdom of God.

Prayers:
MIGHTY GOD, though my efforts may seem insignificant compared with those of others, I pray that I will be faithful in the small things you give me to do so that one day I will be faithful with an abundance of time or finances or gifts. Thank you for blessing that faithfulness and producing results far greater than anything I could do by myself.

Quotes:
DO LITTLE THINGS AS IF THEY WERE GREAT BECAUSE OF THE MAJESTY OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST WHO DWELLS IN YOU; AND DO GREAT THINGS AS IF THEY WERE LITTLE AND EASY BECAUSE OF HIS OMNIPOTENCE.
Blaise Pascal (1623–1662)
